Tommy Hilfiger & The Prep Style Challenge

Tommy Hilfiger è uno dei Brand a livello mondiale sempre più attenti alla mutazione di stile e alla moda, ma pur sempre restando un punto di riferimento per tutti coloro che amano uno stile ben preciso e decisamente consolidato.
Lo stile che, fin dall'inizio della sua carriera, ha sempre ispirato e mosso lo spirito del noto Brand Tommy Hilfiger è lo stile "Preppy".

Facendo un breve salto nel passato, possiamo far risalire le origini del "Preppy Style" agli anni '50 quando, il termine, veniva riferito soltanto ad una piccola nicchia di ragazzi facoltosi che frequentavano le migliori Università d'America e che avevo uno stile abbastanza diversificato e ricercato dal resto dei proprio coetanei.
Uno stile che oggi conosciamo tutti, in quanto è diventato il tipico Clichè del ragazzo/a Americano/a, che ritroviamo in qualsiasi Film d'oltreoceano, con una facoltosa famiglia alle spalle, che riesce a permettersi i migliori lussi ed è anche un pò Snob.

Taking a brief step back in time, we can trace the origins of "Preppy Style" to the '50s when the term was related only to a small niche of wealthy guys who attended the best universities in America and they had a style quite diversified by the rest of their peers. 
A style that today we all know, has become the typical American Cliché of the boy/girl, which we find in any film, with a wealthy family behind, he/she can afford the best luxuries and even a bit snobbish.

I tipici capi che rispecchiano in totale questo Mood sono sicuramente le camicie Tartan, i pantaloni con il risvolto alla caviglia, i maglioncini portati rigorosamente appoggiati sulle spalle, mocassini, gonna abbastanza lunga, stripes t-shirt, blazer con stemma, polo tinta unita, le ballerina, le gonne a pieghe, ecc.. insomma uno stile che, una volta, poteva essere definito "collegiale" e che, immediatamente, riesce a riprodurci l'immagine ideale.

Typical items that reflect the mood in total are surely the Tartan shirts, pants with the cuff at the ankle, the sweaters worn resting on thr shoulders, moccasins, skirts long enough, stripe t-shirt, blazer with crest, polo, pumps, pleated skirts, etc. .. in short, a style that once could be described as "collegial" and that immediately, unable to reproduce the ideal image.

Oggi però lo stile Preppy è cambiato totalmente, come dice lo stesso Hilfiger "Il Look Preppy è diventato Globale..ed ogni angolo del mondo lo interpreta in modo diverso".
Per questa ragione, il Brand Americano ha indetto la "Prep Style Challenge" ovvero un Contest molto semplice nel quale devi caricare il tuo Look Preppy ed il più votato vincerà un viaggio da sogno in una delle città toccate dal Tour, alcuni esempi: Londra, Parigi, Tokyo, Amsterdam, New York, Madrid, Stoccolma, Los Angeles e molte altre.

Today, however, Preppy style is totally changed, as the same Hilfiger "The Preppy Look has gone Global .. every corner of the World interprets it in a different way."
For this reason, the American brand has launched the "Prep Style Challenge " which is a very simple contest where you have to upload your Preppy Look and the most votes will win a dream trip in one of the cities affected by the Tour, some examples: London Paris, Tokyo, Amsterdam, New York, Madrid, Stockholm, Los Angeles and many others.
